I tagged along to the 2nd annual iPhoneographySA Exhibition at the iStore on Sandton Drive earlier this week to support my hubby for his first ever exhibition.
You should have seen him do the running-man on the spot when the email came through that one of his images was selected 🙂
The event was very well run & packed on the evening with entertainment and the yummiest food. Whoever made those melt-in-your-mouth meringues I need the recipe!
The inaugural event was held last year & based on that success it was held again this year & it’s also been extended to Cape Town. Any photo that’s been taken with an iPhone could enter (i.e. I was automatically disqualified). Entries opened for about a month & the maximum entries per person was set at 5 pictures.
All the pics were beautifully printed by the folks at Printwild & photographers could elect to have their pics framed at an extra cost in a black/white frame – I loved this look too.
Notice the electrical plug/cord hanging from the ceiling – cute & quirky! The winners announcement by the CEO of iStores SA Andrew Mundell (left) & Marc Forrest (right).
It still blows my mind that all the pics exhibited were taken with a camera phone! The best overall 3 pictures were chosen with 1st place walking away with an iPad 3!
If you missed the iPhoneographySA Exhibition the artwork will stay up till the Friday the 26th October at the iStore on Sandton Drive. And take cash – most of the photographs are for sale (at each photographer’s discretion) from around R250. If you’re in Cape Town, check out the exhibition later this month on 23rd October.
